Felecia Williams, MPA, RHIA
With an affinity for health and wellness, Felecia’s resume moves from clinical to administrative to education, without ever leaving what she loves. Listening intently and sharing what he she has learned with others seems to be the place she calls homes. If you ask a question and she is unfamiliar with the topic, you’ve only created her next project. Her unwillingness to be defeated by a perceived problem motivates her to find viable solutions.
Felecia is currently a clinical assistant professor in the Health Information Management Program at the University of Illinois at Chicago (UIC). She holds a bachelor’s degree in health information management from UIC and a master’s degree in Public Administration with a concentration in Health Services Management from Roosevelt University.
She has held management positions with national healthcare consulting firms, working with hospitals and employer groups to streamline and automate processes, perform cost-saving analysis and evaluate business strategies. She has also work in the health care payor arena focusing on provider profiling and healthcare transparency for consumer education.
Felecia’s philosophy: Everyone has the ability to serve, however the mechanism by which this is accomplished will vary from person to person. Find an organization whose mission statement speaks to the morals and values by which you live and get involved; help them work towards their goals and you’ll achieve some of your own.
